THE CHALLENGE

Aquatic Design Group was faced with designing a series of water features in an arid climate that provided a big water look. The challenge was to adhere to the Las Vegas municipal code that limit a maximum of 0.2 percent of the total development area can be water features.

The Solution

Designing water features that are interactive utilizing high pressure water delivery systems that atomize water or create small droplets of water to allow interaction while keeping the flow rate low. Also created water elements that had minimal aeration yet still provided the sound of water by disrupting minimal amounts of surface tension keeping water evaporation rates lower than traditional water features.

The Results

Four distinctive water features, programmed to be visually appealing day or night, draw shoppers in creating excitement and traffic to the main anchor points of Downtown Summerlin.
